Natural cotton yarn is khadi cotton yarn spun by hand. The thickness is not even throughout the length of the skein. However it is much softer and lighter.
Classic cotton yarn is a mill spun yarn. The thickness is uniform and the yarn is soft.
Mercerized cotton yarn also a mill spun yarn that has undergone a process called mercerization that gives it the sheen. The thickness is uniform and the yarn is shiny and soft.
All three yarns can be used as a substitution for each other in their weight category. However we ask you to be mindful of the pattern gauge too.
While I thoroughly wash the yarn after dying some light bleeding may occur during the first wash. This is completely normal with hand-dyed yarn.
You may use a commercially available fabric dye fixer solution to fix excess bleeding. However please also be careful not to use any harsh detergents to wash your handmades.
